Scottish Ball at Sýpka

On Friday, 27 November, Medlánky will come alive with Scottish dancing!

Dear friends of Scottish culture,
with great pleasure we invite you to a dance celebration held on the occasion of St Andrew’s Day, the patron saint of Scotland. The event will take place on Friday, 27 November 2026, at the Sýpka Cultural Centre in Brno–Medlánky. The ceilidh begins at 7:00 PM with the first dance, and the hall will be open to visitors from 6:30 PM.
You can look forward to the traditional highlights of the evening – a ceremonial opening with bagpipers and drummers from Scotch Dog Pipes and Drums, musical accompaniment by Alastair Edwards and his band, and above all, dance instruction led by our excellent teacher Mike Scott from Edinburgh. The Whisky Shop from Brno will offer a selection of fine Scottish single malt whiskies for tasting, and there will also be a prize competition with attractive themed rewards.
Please note that consuming your own food and drinks in the hall is not permitted. Thank you for your understanding.
The ticket price is 550 CZK per person. Tickets will be available via the SMS Ticket portal. Sales will begin approximately one month before the event. We will keep you informed through our social media and newsletter.
The autumn ceilidh is usually held in a more relaxed and informal spirit, so don’t worry if you don’t own a kilt – and feel free to leave your mum’s tartan skirt in the wardrobe.
On the other hand, if you do wish to have a kilt of your own, you can order or hire one from our kiltmaker at www.kiltforyou.eu.

Skotský Pes looks forward to seeing you!
